American tennis star Serena Williams will look to clinch her 24th Grand Slam title when she takes on Naomi Osaka of Japan in the final of the ongoing US Open at the Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday.
The 36-year-old, who had defeated Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova 6-3, 6-0 in their semi-final clash, stands a golden chance to equal Australian legend Margaret Court's haul of 24 Grand Slam titles.
A win in the final will also register her as the holder of the highest number of US Open singles titles. She is currently tied with compatriot Christine Evert on 6.
This is Serena's second grand slam final since returning to Tennis after the birth of her daughter Olympia.
While Serena is ruling the court, her husband Alexis Ohanian is ruling the internet. The Reddit co-founder shared a video on Twitter after Serena's semifinal win celebrating her achivements since the birth of their daughter.
The video is a compilation of footage from Olympia being born and her appearing in the US Open match on Friday night.
The video begins with Serena being interviewed after her semifinal win.
The tennis star, who missed last year's US Open because of her daughter's birth, had an emergency cesarean section.
The video shows clips of Serena in the hospital with an oxygen mask on her face and with little Olympia, followed by footage of her wearing a black tutu dress designed by Virgil Abloh for her first match of the tournament.
Ohanian in his tweet also lauded Serena’s efforts and her fight for equal pay and women rights.
His emotional tweet read, “She fought for her life, for our child, for recognition, for equal pay, for women’s rights. She never gives up."
"I had this made for @serenawilliams last night after her match with some home videos from 1 year ago this week. Help me make sure she sees it!” he finished.
