The decision to levy licence fees of Rs400 per year on each computer at cyber cafes was taken following a directive of the state government on this issue.

For the first time, the Pune district collectorate has decided to levy licence fees of Rs400 per year on each computer at cyber cafes operating in the district. The decision was taken following a directive of the state government on this issue.
The fees would be collected by the district collectorate when the cyber cafe owners renew their licence every year.
Resident deputy collector, Anil Pawar, said, "We will conduct a special drive to collect the fees from cyber cafes for this financial year."
There are 170 registered
cyber cafes in the district.
Maval MP and president of Pune district cyber cafe owners' association, Gajanan Babar, said, "I will have to look into the details about the fees that would be levied and then comment on the matter."
