35-year man old held for molesting woman in Grant Road

The DB Marg police have arrested a 35-year-old Nalasopara resident for allegedly molesting a woman in broad daylight. The public nabbed the suspect the woman raised an alarm and handed over the man to the police. The man has been identified as Dineshkumar Sukhlal Vishwakarma.

According to the police, the complainant stays in western suburbs and works in a clinic in Grant Road. Every day, she walks from the railway station towards her workplace, which is situated near Marwadi Vidyalaya School.

The incident took place on Saturday around 1pm in Grant Road when she had reached Imperial Talkies.

"She told us that someone came from behind, grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. She then pushed the person and screamed for help. One of her colleagues saw her and with the help of the public caught the suspect. He was then brought to us," said an officer from DB Marg police station.

The officer added that Vishwakarma has been booked under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code for assault or criminal force against a woman to outrage her modesty. A local court remanded Vishwakarma in police custody till April 19.
