Forest guards out patrolling the area saw the cat and the information was passed on to senior officials.”

On receiving the information, officials reached the spot and inspected the carcass of the feline. The carcass appeared to be three day old as the flesh had started decomposing,” officials said.

On taking a closer look at the tiger, the officials found that it had few injuries on its neck and other parts of the body. “There were few blood drops near the carcass also. The carcass was recovered and brought to the head quarters where a post mortem was conducted by forest department veterinary doctors,” an official said.

“The viscera has been taken which will be studied to find out the reason for death. The tiger was later cremated,” the official added.
