Mukesh Patel gets best Guj professional award

Mukesh Patel, a well-known tax consultant and author has been given the 'Outstanding Professional of Gujarat Award' by All Gujarat Federation of Tax consultants at JB Auditorium, Ahmedabad Management Association on Saturday.

Patel was awarded for his various contributions as a tax consultant.Former Supreme Court judge, justice CK Thakkar was the chief guest at the event. DS Rastogi, chief commissioner of income tax, Gujarat also attended the event.

Speaking on the occasion justice Thakkar praised Patel for his work. Patel was also a student of justice Thakkar at Sir LA Shah Law College in the city.

Praising Patel, BJP minister Harin Pathak said that the tax consultant often guided him on financial issues that were being debated in the parliament. Patel has specialised in personal and corporate tax planning, appellate matters, international taxation, joint ventures and collaborations and tax and investment planning for NRIs.

Having devoted 28 years towards teaching, he is also a visiting faculty with the Gujarat Law Society and IIM, Ahmedabad.  Having travelled to over 75 countries, Patel has closely studied some of the world's major tax systems.
