We've different style, says actor Rajinikanth after Kamal Haasan calls on him

Superstar Rajinikanth on Sunday said that he and Kamal Haasan would take different paths in politics, just like the individual styles they had in movies.

"In cinema too, Kamal Haasan style was different, my style was different. Even in politics, it will be different, but both of us aim to do good for the people," Rajinikanth told reporters after Haasan called on him at his residence here.

Rajinikanth for the first time had hinted at differences in their approach for coming together in politics after both the actors announced their decision to enter politics last year. Earlier, the superstar was maintaining that only time would tell whether both will join hands in politics.

Rajinikanth's comment gains significance as it comes in the backdrop of Haasan ruling out any alliance with former if he has a hue of saffron in his politics. "If this is the route he (Rajini) is going to take and if his hue is saffron, then I can't see a clear understanding. Unless there is some other explanation that he gives convinces my rational mind," Haasan had said while addressing India Conference 2018 at Harvard University on February 10.

Haasan who is beginning his political journey on February 21 from Rameswaram, called on Rajinikanth at his residence to invite him to the launch meeting. "When I decided to take the (political) journey, I had informed him (Rajinikanth). Now, before leaving for the journey, I came to inform those whom I like," Haasan said about the meeting. "This is not a political meeting but a friendly one. Friendship was dominant (at the meeting)," he added.

Haasan declined to reveal what exactly transpired.

Later, Rajinikanth told reporters that Haasan invited him for the latter's "political journey," apparently meaning the launch of the actor's political party.
