The incident took place at Visat farm house last night, when a family of one Manubhai consisting of his wife and three children were sleeping.
Two children were burnt to death and three others were injured after a hut in a farm house in Adalaj village of Gandhinagar district got engulfed in fire, police said today.
The incident took place at Visat farm house last night, when a family of one Manubhai consisting of his wife and three children were sleeping, they said.
According to police, the family had a kerosene lamp burning in the hut which somehow fell down setting fire to the heap of hay nearby.
In seconds, the hut was engulfed in fire killing two children on the spot, while Manubhai, wife Lilaben and son Janaka sustained burn injuries, they said.
The injured were sent to a private hospital for treatment where their condition was said to be stable, police said. The deceased were identified as Uday, 4, and Amit, 7.
A case of accident has been registered at the Adalaj police station and further investigation in the matter was on.
