Since Karnataka has been witnessing a decline in COVID-19 cases, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has allowed Anganwadis and playschools to reopen from November 8. The advisory was released on Saturday, November 6.

In a report filed by ANI, the BBMP said that it will reopen schools in areas that have less than 2 per cent Testing Positivity Rate (TPR). The civic body took the decision to reopen schools within limits and in adherence to the COVID-19 protocols.

The order also said, "All teachers should be fully vaccinated. They have to take consent letters from children's parents."

As of now, the schools will reopen for two hours, between 10 am - 12 pm and only children who are fully vaccinated will be allowed to enter the premises as per the order guidelines.

The Karnataka government had earlier resumed physical classes for students in a phase-wise manner. Initially, it reopened schools for classes 9 to 12 from August 23, then it reopened schools for classes 6 to 8 from September 6 and finally for classes 1 to 5, their school was resumed on October 25.

On the other hand, the state has imposed a night curfew between 10 pm - 5 am that was implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19.

As per the Karnataka Health bulletin, the state has recorded 224 fresh coronavirus cases and five deaths, in the last 24 hours that has pushed the caseload to 29,89,713 and the death toll 38,107.
