Narendra Modi terms Congress workers intolerant for shutting down Aditi restaurant

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has reacted sharply to the indecent acts of Congress workers in shutting down an eatery in Mumbai that showed the UPA Government in poor light through quirky food bills, describing the entire episode as the height of intolerance.

“Height of Intolerance!” Modi tweeted.

The irate Congress workers, who shut down the eatery, also asked the owner to apologise.

The incident took place on a day when Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi asked his asked his party men to stand united and speak in a positive note as the 2014 Lok Sabha polls draw closer.

“Let's get talent from states. Let youth and seniors work together,” he said in his address at the Congress media conclave in New Delhi yesterday.

43-year old Gandhi, who inaugurated the media conclave being held in the national capital, impressed upon the spokespersons to communicate to the masses the major initiatives taken by the UPA Government at the Centre.

The trouble began after the restaurant owner printed controversial bills criticizing the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre.

According to reports, Srinivas Shetty, the owner of Aditi Pure Veg restaurant, came up with the bills to protest the service tax on air-conditioned restaurants.

The Congress youth workers allegedly stormed the restaurant yesterday afternoon, and asked the owner to shut the shop.
