The 'Mahaganpati' of the GSB Seva Mandal, known to be India's richest idol and always the center of the show for the lavish way it is decorated, will be adorned with 66.5 kilos of gold jewels, more than 295 kilograms of silver, and other priceless goods this year.

A GSB Seva Mandal official stated on Monday that the Mandal, located in King's Circle in the eastern part of the city, is commemorating its 69th year and a first is the installation of facial recognition cameras as part of the security preparations.

"This year, the mandal has a 360.40 crore rupee insurance policy. The organizers have implemented QR codes and internet live systems for followers," he said. In order to ensure the completion and inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, a havan would be performed, according to a spokeswoman.

The main gate will represent commitment and unity and will be decorated with priceless metals provided by Mumbai's richest Ganpati Bappa. Over 40 thousand worshippers will be able to eat every day at the temple, which is predicted to draw more than 2 lakh visitors every day.

A modern surveillance system with cameras fitted with facial recognition technology has been installed at the temple to protect the safety and security of both its patrons and employees. In the past, a particular havan (ritualistic fire ceremony) was held to commemorate Chandrayaan and ask for blessings.

This insurance plan includes an all-risk coverage worth Rs 38.47 crore that covers a variety of risks related to gold and silver items. A public liability cover of Rs 30 crore assures the safety of the pandal and the worshippers, while an additional special risk coverage of Rs 2 crore covers common fire and earthquake hazards.

The greatest share, totaling Rs 289.50 crore, is earmarked for personal accident insurance coverage for the hardworking workers and volunteers.
