Five of the six explosives recovered at Howrah station still to be defused

The Bomb Disposal Squad immediately reached the Howrah station and took the abandoned bags to a deserted area near platform one.

Explosives were recovered on the down Falaknuma Express at Howrah station on Wednesday morning. 

As many as six cylindrical objects containing explosives were placed inside two abandoned bags which were found in the general compartment of the train. GRP and RPF officials rushed to the spot and informed the West Bengal CID. 

The Bomb Disposal Squad immediately reached the Howrah station and took the abandoned bags to a deserted area near platform one. The area was cordoned off and one cylindrical object was defused. The remaining five are still to be defused. 

Forensic officials have also reached the spot to determine the nature of explosives. Meanwhile, the railway authorities have begun an investigation into this case.
