Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, who had accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders of assault, was on Saturday transferred as a part of a bureaucratic reshuffle.

Prakash will now be the Additional Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications. The appointment was made by the committee of the Cabinet.

"Shri Anshu Prakash, IAS (AGMUT:86), presently in the cadre, as Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications in the vacancy caused due to the appointment of N Sivasailam, IAS (KN 85) as Special Secretary (Logistics). Department of Commerce," reads the notification.

Prakash was allegedly assaulted during a meeting at Kejriwal's official residence on February 19. The alleged assault on the chief secretary had triggered a bitter tussle between the Delhi government and its bureaucrats.

Last month, a Delhi court granted bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia.

All the accused were granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 except Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal who were earlier granted bail by the Delhi High Court. The bail was granted after they appeared before the court in pursuance to summons issued to them.

The Delhi Police had filed its chargesheet before the court on August 13 in connection with the alleged assault on Prakash in February. The Delhi Police had on May 18 questioned Kejriwal for over three hours.

He will take charge as Secretary after the retirement of current Expenditure Secretary AN Jha.

Girish, a 1985 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre is currently serving as special secretary in the revenue department.
