BJP attacks Ashok Gehlot govt over Congress's electoral promises

In the manifesto for state Assembly elections, the Congress had promised to give Rs 3,500 per month as allowance to unemployed youth and waive bank loans of farmers.

The BJP in Rajasthan has started a statewide movement from Monday over the issue of ten per cent reservation to Economically Weaker Section (EWS), farm loan waiver and unemployment allowance. Accusing the Congress government in the state of deceiving the people of the state, BJP members in all 33 districts across state agitated and handed over a memorandum to district administration officials addressed to Governor Kalyan Singh on Monday.

In the manifesto for state Assembly elections, the Congress had promised to give Rs 3,500 per month as allowance to unemployed youth and waive bank loans of farmers. There is no announcement to give allowance to the unemployed in the state so far. The government also hasn't fixed the criteria for farm loan waiver. With Lok Sabha elections approaching, the BJP has started attacking the Congress government over these issues.

Senior BJP leaders, MLAs, former MLAs and MPs took part in the demonstration in all the districts.

In state capital Jaipur, BJP workers were led by former BJP state president Arun Chaturvedi. The party workers reached the Collectorate and submitted a memorandum to district collector Jagroop Singh Yadav.

BJP state president Madan Lal Saini told the media that the Congress government has made false promises and the people of the state have come to know the reality of the Congress government. He also said that the party would bring the false promises in front of the public.
