Poonam Dhillon turns sutradhar for Santoshi Maa

The makers of the ongoing show Santoshi Maa are starting a new segment for which they have roped in Poonam Dhillon as a sutradhar. Sources say that the makers were receiving a lot of feedback from viewers who were keen to share their real life experiences owing to their faith in the goddess. "They wanted those instances and experiences to be used in the show. That was when they decided to introduce a segment and have a sutradhar to narrate those stories. They felt Poonam would be ideal because she is someone who viewers easily relate to. Also, a research showed that after her last show Ek Nayee Pehchaan, she was popular and had a connect with the target audience in the small-towns too. When she was approached she was more than willing," informs the source.

Agrees Poonam, who will soon start shooting for the show. "It is something that will bring about positivity, so I am happy to do it." The actress has immense faith in the goddess and believes in the power of prayers. "Praying to a divine power gives you some kind of emotional and mental satisfaction. I do pooja, but haven't been able to keep the 16 shukravar vrat. Many of my close friends have done it. It's my aim to keep that fast at least once in my life, but I am apprehensive whether I will be able to do, because it is not easy. I admire those who do it," says the actress. And though she does not pray to get something in particular, she has several friends who have prayed and fasted for a specific reason and got great results.
