'King's Speech' star Colin Firth stuck with real-life stammer

The 50-year-old actor developed the stammer deliberately for the role, which earned him an Oscar award for Best Actor.

Colin Firth has admitted that he has developed a stammer in real life since playing George V1 in The King's Speech.

"It's quite infectious," the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

"You find yourself doing it, and if I start thinking about it, it gets worse," he added.

The 50-year-old actor developed the stammer deliberately for the role, which earned him an Oscar award for Best Actor.
