Getting ‘kosmic’

Charismatic ‘Kosmic Chat’ (Zoom) hostess Sunita Menon is all set to  host  two new smart chat-shows which have nothing to do with  tarot-card reading.  She is reluctant to divulge more details. “Ekta Kapoor was keen that I play a dramatic role in her serials. But I laughed it off.  Acting and fiction does not fascinate me,” shrugs Sunita. 

Apparently, she is ‘allergic’ to TV serial roles and had turned down tempting  acting offers from her buddy Ekta Kapoor to ‘act’ in a couple of  TV soaps.  “It was not that I was acting pricey. It’s just that playing TV serial fictional characters including that of a tarot-card reader just does not fascinate me.  So we just laughed it off and Ekta respected my decision. But hosting ‘Kosmic Chat’ has definitely helped me explore my latent potential  Five years ago, I would have never imagined that  I would be regularly ‘conversing’ with the TV cameras as well as celebs on the show,” says Sunita. 

She is one of the panelists which will decide the winning VJ for ‘Levi’s Diva Quest’ (Zoom) contest.  But wasn’t it all about ‘photogenic looks with a flair for non-stop chatting’. Sunita dares to differ. “No, that’s not what initially counts. What I look for in each female contestant is her total conviction and self-confidence. We were taken aback to note that the girls are all well-qualified and are dabbling in VJ-ing more as a creative dimension to their personality. Even those from remote small towns are so focused and savvy.”

She is a discreet connoisseur of ‘abstract modern art’ and also offers her prudential message for ‘prediction-lovers’. “No one can ever change your ‘karma’, one has to live it out gracefully. Tarot-card forecasts are only guide-catalysts that help one to be ‘prepared’ for the best or worst.  It’s a westernized version of our own ethnic ‘prashna-kundali’,” she signs off.
