Sonakshi Sinha is the no nonsense girl for various reasons. The actress might have faced several criticisms for her acting skills and her so called fashion faux pas but the Dabangg girl has never let those affect her. Rather, the actress has always taken a strong stand and made sure she gets her word out right. That the girl in real life is Dabangg is not even a question anymore. With Sona taking up a bold initiative to silence her critics, all we feel like giving her a round of applause for never bowing down to such inane criticisms.
Here are 4 instances when Sonakshi showed her Shotgun side to the world.
Her reply to the Golden Kela Awards:
Ever since she's been a part of the industry, her movie choices has made critics go all out against her. Criticised heavily for playing the same role over and over again ( except Lootera) Sonakshi was given the Worst Actress Award at the Golden Kela Awards to which our Dabangg queen strongly replied with a tweet. The tweet had her posing with a banana and she clearly showed that she didn't need a Golden Kela Award when she could buy a real banana at Rs 4! Nice move, indeed!
Her strong stance for Lootera:
Definitely one of the most poignant films of 2013, Lootera captured the best of Sonakshi till date. From a beautiful story line to some effortless performances, Sonakshi and Ranveer Singh shone in the Vikramaditya Motwane directorial. But the movie which received a huge thumbs from critics all over was left out when it came to the Awards. Sonakshi strongly condemned such practices and opposed it without even thinking about the consequences. She clearly voiced out her opinions on the matter and also mentioned how Lootera being such a nice film did not deserve to be left out of nominations in the popular Awards section.
Tackling criticisms on her weight:
Time and again, Sonakshi has been criticised for her body fat and body weight. Starting as a plump kid, our Jr Sinha has meticulously worked hard to shed oodles of weight only to stun and shun her critics. With hard work and perseverance, not only did she lose weight but she also got the confidence to shoot back at whoever passes any random derogatory comments at her. Recently, she posted a picture of a skeleton on her Instagram and wrote: “To all those who keep commenting on my weight, whether its a full picture, or a close up where you cant see jack. Take a good look at this picture. Now get this: 1) this ain’t ever gonna be me. 2) get over it. 3) i wish u could see which finger i hold up for shallow and idiotic people like yourself."
Hitting back at the fashion police:
Other than her weight issues and acting flak, if there's something that Sona has been mercilessly criticised for, it has to be for her dressing sense. While the fashion police literally postmortemed the actress's wardrobe calling it tacky, Sona posted a lovely photo wearing Diesel denim dungarees not giving a damn about the fashion police!
The KRK incident:
Recently while Kamaal R Khan aka KRK infamously known for his controversial statements started the Bollywood Big Butt contest, posting derogatory and disrespectful tweets about Sonakshi and her other contemporary actresses, Sonakshi clearly gave KRK the royal smack by tweeting against him. Taking a stand against his disrespectful statement, Sonakshi not only slammed him but also wanted to hang him upside down and give him 4 tight slaps.
