IPL 2021: Pat Cummins tears into Sam Curran, hits 30 runs in one over

Yes, all-rounder, Pat Cummins came to the fore when Kolkata Knight Riders needed it the most as he smashed 30 runs including four sixes in one over of Sam Curran to keep his side in the game against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) chasing 221 runs.

Curran was over the moon after getting the wicket of Andre Russell and KKR were surely behind the game after losing both Dinesh Karthik and Russell and from nowhere Pat Cummins produced an instance of some outstanding batting.

KKR required 75 runs off the last five overs and they needed something special to come even close with seven wickets down. Cummins just did that.

Curran had his tails up after the big wicket, but Cummins just wanted to puncture the confidence of the left-arm seamer. The first ball, Cummins hits towards the outside of sweeper cover and he took a couple of runs. However, the ball started going the journey from the next.

The second one, a length ball outside off, Cummins slapped it over the wide long-off boundary for a maximum. The next ball, another length delivery and Cummins hit straight down the ground and KKR has 14 runs off just three balls. But Cummins wasn't done yet.

As another length delivery and Cummins whipped it towards square leg for a third six in a row. The next ball, a full toss and Cummins muscled it over the covers for a one-bounce four getting 24 runs off the five deliveries. Curran then switched to round the wicket and the same result as another length ball, he gave it in Cummins' arc and he hit over the midwicket for the fourth six in the over and brought the equation down to 45 runs off just 24 balls.
