Rajasthan Royals' new recruit and Australian cricketer, Ashton Turner, smashed the ball to the roof of the Docklands Stadium during a Big Bash League (BBL) match on Friday.
Batting for Perth Scorchers, Turner struck the first ball of the 12th over, bowled by Dan Christen, which went up straight to hit the roof and it was the very first such instance of the eighth season of BBL.

Unfortunately for Turner, his side eventually ended up on the losing side as Melbourne Renegades sealed the match by four wickets.
Turner was among the two Australian cricketers who bagged an Indian Premier League (IPL) contract this IPL 2019 auction earlier this week. The other Aussie was Moises Henriques, who was bought by Kings XI Punjab for about $198,100.

Rajasthan meanwhile bought Turner for $99,050. Turner, who has played three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) for Australia, averages 20.18 in T20s with 73 being his highest in 59 matches.
Turner and Henriques were among 23 Australian players that went under the hammer in Jaipur. A total of 60 players got a contract in the cash-rich Indian t20 league, which will be played from March 29 to May 19 in 2019.
