Australia A ended the second day of the practice match on a high after losing half of their side below a score of 100 riding on all-rounder Cameron Green's unbeaten hundred.

The day started with India A declaring on 247-9, with skipper Ajinkya Rahane staying unbeaten on 117. The righ-arm pacer James Pattinson ended as the top wicket-taker with three scalps.

Australian openers' story followed the same script as that of their Indian counterparts, with both Will Pucovski and Joe Burns getting dismissed cheaply. Umesh Yadav drew the first blood getting Pucovski to attack on a short and wide delivery staight into the hands of the point fielder.

India A kept chipping at the wickets, before Cameron Green and Tim Paine joined hands to frustrate the life out of India A bowlers and fielders. The duo stitched a 104-run partnership before Umesh came back to dismiss Paine, yet again or a short delivery. However, this time, the fielder Prithvi Shaw deserved as much credit. Shaw was placed at backward square-leg position inside the circle just next to the leg umpire. Paine swivelled on the pull shot, Shaw had to backpeddle and time his jump right to grab the ball over and above his head.

Green, on the other end, continued his merry run. After scoring mountains in Domestic cricket, he broke into Australia's squads and amde his debut in ODIs. Now, after this century he looks good for donning the baggy green as well.

Australia ended the day on 286-8, thereby taking a 39-run lead.

For the Indians, Umesh Yadav staked his claim for the third seamer slot with three wickets, in Ishant Sharma's absence with other two being Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. Ashwin, too bowling with his cap on, took two wickets and looks most certainly to start in the Adelaide test, with Ravindra Jadeja doubtful due to concussion and hamstring issue.

The four-match test series starts on December 17 with the lone day-night game in Adelaide.
