This teapot is the world's most valuable teapot. It featured in the Guinness World Records in 2016. The name of the tea-pot is 'The Egoist’. The teapot was commissioned by the N Sethia Foundation which was founded by British-Indian billionaire Nirmal Sethia.

The teapot was designed by Nirmal Sethia and sponsored by his firm, Newby Teas. It was made by Fulvio Scavia. It is made of yellow gold and silver. The body had 1658 diamonds and 386 rubies. It also has a 6.67 carat Thai ruby.

The handle is made from mammoth ivory. Its price in 2016 was Rs 24.8 crore.

Sethia was born in 1941, in Kolkata. His father's name was Sohan Lalji Sethia. Sethia has been living in London for the last 50 years, he is attached to his homeland, India.

He runs charitable projects in India, UK, Africa, Russia and other countries. He also works in fields of education, religion and healthcare.

His net worth is a whopping 6.5 billion pounds (6,84,49 crores).

"This is the most valuable teapot in the world. Owned by the N Sethia Foundation in the UK, the teapot is made from 18-carat yellow gold with cut diamond covering the entire body and a 6.67-carat ruby in the centre. The teapot's handle is made from fossilised mammoth ivory. It was valued in 2016 to be worth $3,000,000 (£2,307,900, €2,704,800)," Guiness tweeted.
