Rajya Sabha member B Partha Saradhi Reddy became the richest Member of Parliament (MP) in the country last year. Reddy is a member of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party. He draws his massive wealth from his stake in the Hetero Group of Companies which he heads as the Chairman. The company was founded back in 1993 and has become a leader in the pharma segment over the last three decades. 

Reddy is a PhD holder in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and MSc in Organic Chemistry from Osmania University of Hyderabad. His expertise in synthetic chemistry helped Hetero enhance research and development capabilities and become one of the top generic API firms globally. The company is also a global leader in anti-retroviral drugs.

Dr Reddy declared personal assets pegged at over Rs 3900 crore while filing his nomination for Rajya Sabha. Combined with his family, the assets in the declaration came to around Rs 5,300 crore. 

As per the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022, Hyderabad-based B Partha Saradhi Reddy and family were the 4th richest among pharma entrepreneurs with total wealth estimated at Rs 39,200 crore, with an increase of 50 percent in the last year.
