The comedy industry is rapidly growing in the country. What seemed like a hobby a few years ago, now, more and more people are pursuing a full-time career in comedy.  One of the most famous comedians in our country is Kanan Gill. Gill garnered fame with his YouTube series, 'Pretentious Movie Review' along with Biswa Kalyan Rath. After that Gill signed many contracts with Amazon Prime and Netflix. 

Kanan was born to a Sikh family in Bareilly and spent most of his early life in Dehradun and Delhi. His father Charanjit Singh Gill is an Army officer. 

His schooling happened in Bengaluru. After 12th Gill, went to a private college in Bengaluru to pursue his graduation in BE in Computer Science. Like any other engineering graduate, Kanan also joined a software engineering company.

After three years of working, he realised that his real calling was comedy and he left his stable and comfortable job. 

Many open mics later, Kanan Gill started getting recognised. Now, he is one of the top stand-up comics in our country. He even appeared in a movie called Noor, alongside Sonakshi Singha.  According to tz.youtubers.me, Gill's net worth is Rs 28,14,270.
