We've endured nepotism in the industry: Sushmita Sen

Sushmita Sen recently opened up about the hottest topic - nepotism in Bollywood. The actress went on to state that the concept of 'insiders and outsiders' existed since a long time and everybody has endured it. She also stated that a single person cannot bring about a change in the scenario.

While talking to PTI in an interview, Sushmita emphasized on there being a fair game between 'insiders' and 'outsiders' as she mentioned, "There has been a discussion about it all over the media and everywhere at this moment. (But) We all have been enduring it, it is not new. Is this something that we have just realised?"

"That competitiveness - or now everybody says this word 'nepotism' - is a truth you have known for as long as the industry has existed. With awareness, social and digital space, it has increased thousands of folds,” she said, also adding, "If it needs to change, then all of us need to take responsibility, not one person."

Sushmita, last seen in the web show 'Aarya', which also marked her comeback in the Hindi media, further went on to state that if one cannot applaud somebody else's work, they shouldn't be destructive of it either. Calling it a 'vicious cycle', the actress spoke about how feeling of jealousy and revenge creep in once a person envies another's success.
