This old interview of Arjun Kapoor talking about his equation with stepmom Sridevi is going viral, watch video

The country lost its first female superstar - Sridevi on February 24 in Dubai where she had gone to attend a family wedding. The actress died of "accidental drowning" in her hotel bathtub, following loss of consciousness. While not just the film industry but also her fans across the country mourned the loss of the actress, nobody had any idea what her family must be going through. Her elder daughter Janhvi couldn't even be with her mother in her last moments as she couldn't go to attend the wedding since she was shooting in Mumbai for her debut film Dhadak. 

Boney Kapoor's son, Arjun Kapoor was seen by the side of his father throughout the journey. The actor left shooting for his next film Namastey England to be with his sisters. Though, Arjun is Boney's son from his first marriage, he stood by not just Boney, but also by the the side of Janhvi and Khushi, shouldering his responsibilities like the man of the family. 

Recently, an old interview of the actor with Niranjan Iyengar for Zee Cafe has started doing the rounds. In the said 2014 interview, Arjun can be seen talking about his step mom Sridevi. 

The host Niranjan asked Arjun if he was angry as a child because of the decision of his father, Arjun said, "I am sure I must have gone through anger, angst, vulnerability but I understood eventually. You have to make your peace with it. You can’t make that one decision that your father makes, dictate how you turn out as a human being. It can be a part of your journey but it can’t be the only thing -- because my father did this, all my decisions will be based on it. That’s not how life functions. And he’s been there for me in his capacity. Thankfully, my mother brought me up well enough to make my own choices and decisions in life... My mother never poisoned me against what he has done.”

When asked if her had anything against Sridevi, he explained, "That’s something I am sure I have had various degrees of emotions towards her and him. It’s too long in the past to even dwell on things ... I try to look forward. I make it a point not to dwell on what could have or should have happened...”

When prodded further on how his relationship with Sridevi was then, Arjun shared, "It’s very cordial. I respect anybody in my father’s life the same way because he would expect me to do that. So I respect her and don’t wish ill towards anyone.”

On being asked if Sridevi had been encouraging about his hourney in Bollywood, Arjun shared, "I am sure she is but not with me per se. As in, I’ve never sat down face to face with her and had a chat about how she liked my work or is she following. There is a decent understanding of two people to maintain a certain equation because we love a certain man who is in between both of us. It's as simple as that!"
