Veteran Bollywood star Jeetendra is also known as 'Jumping Jack'. In his acting career, Jeetendra has worked in around 200 films and according to reports the tickets of one of his films were sold more than the blockbuster film 'Sholay'. This film had set a record even after 8 years of its release. One such film which proved to be a superhit is Caravan which was released in 1971. Caravan has Jeetendra and Asha Parekh in the lead role. When this film was released in China, it proved to be a blockbuster.

According to a report published in News18, around 25 crore tickets were sold for Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra's blockbuster Sholay worldwide. On the other hand, more than 31 crore tickets were sold for Jeetendra's film 'Caravan' during its lifetime. The gross collection of 'Caravan' in Asia was more than Rs 1300 crore if adjusted to inflation, according to report.

The songs of this film also proved to be superhit. The film boasts of several superhit songs, including 'Chadti Jawaani Meri Chaal Mastani', 'Daiya Yeh Main Kahan Aa Phasee', 'Dilbar Dil Se Pyaare', 'Kitna Pyaara Vaada Hai' and 'Piya Tu Ab To Aaja'. According to Box Office India data, 'Caravan' had a gross collection of about Rs 3.6 crore at the Indian box office in 1971.

The film 'Caravan' was released in China in 1979, eight years after its release in India. According to the reports, over 8.8 crore tickets of 'Caravan' were sold in China, while about 1.9 crore tickets were sold in India when the film had released in India in 1971. A report which was published in 2000 claimed that the total ticket sales of Caravan had crossed 30 crore.
