South star Suriya and Sudha Kongara collaborated for the first time for Soorarai Pottru. The National Award-winning film saw a direct-to-digital release due to the outburst of COVID-19 and was well appreciated by the audience. Now the actor and director are all set to join hands once again for another movie and a Bollywood actor will reportedly be playing the antagonist in the movie.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source close to the development told the entertainment portal, “Vijay Varma has established himself as a credible actor with his performance in multiple films like Darlings, Dahaad, Pink, Gully Boy, Super 30 and more recently, Lust Stories 2. His work has fetched him appreciation all across and he has also come to the notice of directors and producers for Pan India projects. The first Pan India film that Vijay Verma has bagged is Suriya’s next with Sudha.” 

The report also stated that the character of Vijay Varma is kept under wraps and he will be playing the antagonist in the movie which is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. The source further added, “Sudha has completed most of her work on the official Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru starring Akshay Kumar in the lead, and is now gearing up to start her next film. The prep work has begun and her yet untitled film will Suriya is expected to roll by November 2023.” 

Meanwhile, on the work front, Suriya will wrap up his work on Kanguva directed by Koratala Siva, and the actor is also committed to being a part of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Karna, which will hit floors next year. 

Vijay Varma on the other hand is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Jaane Jaan helmed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Kareena Kapoor Khan and marks the actress’ OTT debut. The film is scheduled to release on Netflix on September 21.
