He made his debut with Always Kabhi Kabhi in 2011 after which he did a couple of short films and a movie for television before he bagged Prassthanam. Satyajeet Dubey, who didn’t have any project for the last three years, feels extremely lucky to be a part of the Sanjay Dutt-starrer. “I was waiting for an opportunity like this. Not something where I had to be a chocolate boy. They (the makers) went beyond my looks and saw the actor in me,” says Satyajeet, who plays Sanjay’s son in the film.

The actor, who hails from a small town in Bilaspur, adds, “It’s the biggest film of my career. I am working with my childhood heroes — Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff, and my favourite heroine Manisha Koirala jinki films Akele Hum, Akele Tum (1995), Dil Se (1998) and Bombay (1995) dekh ke hum bade hue.” When asked who was more fun to hang out with, he shares, “Sanju Baba takes some time to open up but once he does you are a part of his gang. Jackie Dada se toh pehle din hi dosti ho gayi thi.

We were chilling together and now we are good friends. They both are extremely loving, real, genuine people. And if you get along, there is nothing like it.” About his role in the film, he says, “I’m playing a b***ss '90shero and the character is so amazing there is a lot of madness and anger. But at the same time, I hope people like it and empathise with whatever he is doing.” The actor will soon also be seen in the lead role in a web series, and has a horror-comedy in the pipeline.
