REVEALED: Real reason why Sonu Sood’s homes, offices were 'surveyed' by I-T Department

In a major trouble for Bollywood star Sonu Sood, the Income Tax Department on Wednesday (September 15) ‘surveyed’ the Mumbai offices and homes in the suburbs belonging to the actor.

According to reports, the Income Tax Department is looking into a land deal between a firm owned by Sonu Sood and a Lucknow-based real estate company following the complaint of tax evasion. The I-T 'sruvey' at premises owned by Sonu Sood began in the morning and continued till at least 7 pm. Sources said that the I-T department has not yet made any seizures in the matter.

The I-T 'survey' came after after Sonu Sood’s recent meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who declared him the brand ambassador for his government’s mentorship programme for school students Delhi. SOnu Sood, however, later clarified that he is not going to join AAP.

Coming out in support of Sonu Sood, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the actor has the prayers of all those families who got his support during tough times. He added that there are millions of difficulties on the path of truth, but the truth always wins.

"There are millions of difficulties on the path of truth, but the truth always wins. With Sonu Sood ji, there are prayers of lakhs of families of India who got Sonu ji's support in difficult times," he tweeted, tagging a news report of the I-T department action.

Several other AAP leaders also came out in Sonu Sood's support. "This is nothing but a witch hunt by an insecure government against a giant philanthropist considered a 'messiah' by millions. His only crime is that he worked for the welfare of the downtrodden when they were orphaned by the state," AAP leader and MLA Raghav Chadha tweeted.
