Bhumi Pednekar has managed to impress the audience and the critics alike with her acting chops and vivacious nature. The actress who made her Bollywood debut with an unconventional film like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, is known to nail every character that she has portrayed so far in films like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Not many are aware of the fact that before becoming a popular actress, Bhumi was an assistant casting director with Shanoo Sharma for Yash Raj Films.
Recently, Bhumi shot for the upcoming episode of Feet Up with the Stars, on which she indulged in a cosy tête-à-tête with the celebrated fashion designer and host Anaita Shroff Adajania. Known for her frankness and exuberance, Bhumi spilled the beans on her days as a casting director.
Reliving the good old days and recalling Ranveer Singh's audition for his debut film Band Baaja Baaraat, she confessed that she got intimidated by him. She shared, “The most exciting audition was of Ranveer Singh for Band Baaja Baarat. I was intimidated by him, just his energy was intoxicating and he was owning it even back then.”
The actress even went one step further when quizzed about who she would cast in the sequel of Padman 2 (hypothetically). She said, “Given an option, I would cast Arjun (Kapoor) and myself for Padman 2.”
On the work front, Bhumi will soon be seen in Abhishek Chaubey's Son Chiriya along with Sushant Singh Rajput. She will be seen essaying the character of a dacoit in the film. Bhumi will soon begin shooting for Karan Johar's next directorial titled Takht.
