A lot has been discussed about Deepika Padukone's casting in Luv Ranjan's upcoming directorial also starring Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. When the photos of Deepika and Ranbir coming out of Luv's house a few months back hit the Internet, Twitterati urged the dimpled beauty to not work with the filmmaker. During #MeToo wave in India, Ranjan was accused of alleged sexual misconduct. However, it was then said that Deepika has opted out of the film.

Now as per reports in The Times of India, the makers of Luv's film were reportedly shocked on knowing that Deepika opted out of the film. Moreover, even the actor was surprised by the rumour as she is definitely a part of the project. The daily also reported that there are no changes in the cast and is likely to go on floors once Ranbir completes the shoot of his upcoming films namely Brahmastra and Shamshera.

Earlier during a conversation with Vogue India, Deepika was asked if she would work with someone who has been accused of sexual misconduct. To which she replied instantly, "No! I would not".

It was also reported that the film has been delayed by a year. A source earlier told Mid Day, "According to the original plan, the film was expected to kick off this year. But the script is yet to be locked. Couple that with the lead actors' choc-a-block schedule and the film has been pushed by a year now. Ranbir is busy with Brahmastra and then, Shamshera. Ajay, on his part, has a spate of films lined up including Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Bhuj: The Pride Of India and the football film."
