After the first phase of polling ended on Saturday with around 68 percent of the electorate casting votes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed four rallies in North and Central Gujarat which go to polls in the second and final phase on December 14.

Modi addressed rallies in Palanpur, Sanand, Kalol and Vadodara. At around 11.45 am, the PM reached Palanpur in his helicopter and addressed a huge gathering.

"Did you miss me or not? Though I have become the PM, I am still your own Narendrabhai. Those who have raised questions over my origin and caste have not only insulted Gujarat but the post of the Prime Minister," he said.

Lashing out at Rahul Gandhi, the PM said, "He thinks vegetable farming happens in the factory. He doesn't know the hard work a farmer has to put in." The PM said if the BJP government wins the election, it will turn Banaskanta into a transportation hub of India in next five years.

He also said that Pakistan was interfering in Gujarat polls, and sought an explanation from the Congress over its top partymen who are said to have recently met leaders from the neighbouring country. He questioned the alleged appeal by former director general of the Pakistan Army that Ahmed Patel be made CM of Gujarat.
