Gujarat: Chhabil Patel's son surrenders before SIT

As per police official, it was revealed during investigation that Siddharth was helping the shooters by giving information about Bhanushali.

On Saturday, Chhabil Patel's son Siddharth Patel surrendered himself to Special Investigation Team (SIT) official at the Railway SP office. Primary investigation of SIT officers who are investigating the Jayanti Bhanushali, former BJP MLA, who was shot dead on Sayaji Nagari Express train on January 7, revealed that Siddharth has involvement in the case.

As per police official, it was revealed during investigation that Siddharth was helping the shooters by giving information about Bhanushali. They also helped them during their stay at Chhabil Patel's guest house in Kutch.

Gautam Parmar, DIG Railways stated that "Right now we are interrogating Siddharth in the matter, but he is not arrested. But the primary investigation revealed that he has some involvement in helping the accused in the crime. We have been able to collect evidence regarding the case, but once the entire scenario is cleared he will be surely arrested."

Siddharth Patel absconded after a complaint was lodged by Jayanti Bhanushali's nephew alleging him and four others were behind killing Bhanushali. Officials have arrested a total of five accused including Rahul Patel, Nitin Patel, Shasihkant Kamble, Shaikh Asraf and Vishal Kamble. The main culprit Chhabil Patel is still wanted in the case. On January 7, Jayanti Bhanushali, a former BJP MLA from Abdasa was shot dead by two shooters in the Sayajinagri Express train.
