It isn't often that molesters get their comeuppance immediately. But a 30-year-old man found it out the hard way what happens when you molest a woman who not only knows how to fight back but also protect herself.
Payal Patel (name changed), a doctor associated with paramilitary forces, was on her routine walk at around 9.15 pm Sunday morning when she realised that someone was running towards her.
Sensing something wrong, Patel moved out of his way and continued on her walk. But to her horror, the youth went ahead waited for sometime, and then began walking towards her again. "He then grabbed her private parts, which momentarilly shocked her," said a cop.
The girl however soon recovered and pulled him down by his collar. "She dragged him by the collar to the road nearby. As curious onlookers began questioning, she continued to beat the guy and narrated her ordeal," the complaint said. The onlookers and the girl then summoned the cops .
Interestingly, the complaint stated that the man after molesting the woman, not only stood there as she screamed but continued to laugh at her outrage.
Gandhinagar sector-7 police who arrested Mehta said that he has a history of violence and bad behaviour. "He has earlier been booked for breaking windows of vehicles in Sector-2 where he resides. He also has complains against him about fighting," said DA Chaudhary, police inspector. They said, despite his arrest, Mehta, who is mostly unemployed does not seem to have any regrets about his action. "He is acting as if nothing happened," said Chaudhary.
20-year-old molested
A 20-year-old food stall owner was molested and beaten up by four unidentified accused on Sunday. As per police officials, the incident took place at around 10.30 pm near Krishnanagar area. Four accused forcefully took away food from her stall when the victim asked for money. The accused men abused and molested her. When the victim resisted, the accused hit her and later fled from the spot. Cops are yet to the accused.
