A stampede broke out in Casablanca mosque where more than eighty people were injured during prayers. The worshippers panicked and ran to and fro when a woman started screaming after spotting a mouse.

Thousands of people were gathered in the Hassan II Casablanca mosque on Monday to celebrate the most holy day of Ramadan. Dozens of women apparently stormed out of the women's area of the mosque when they heard a woman screaming, according to Mirror reports.

The rampage in the women's area caused hundreds of men who were praying in a separate area of the mosque to join the league and attempt to flee fearing the suspicion of a bomb in the mosque.

According to reports, around 81 people were injured, most of them included women, and many sustained fractures. A pregnant woman was reportedly the most hurt in the stampede sustaining two fractured legs. According to authorities: "Some 81 people, most of them women, sustained light injuries and fractures when some of them fainted." At least 34 people fainted in the rush, according to reports by Morocco World News.
