Sushmita Sen has mesmerized people with her role as 'Aarya' through the trailer of the upcoming web show by the same name. The actress spilled that she was indeed so immersed in the role that she would not respond if anybody called her anything apart from 'Aarya'.

"I remember, I wouldn't even look at people on sets if they didn't call me Aarya," recollected Sushmita Sen at the virtual trailer launch of the show 'Aarya'. She said that the name itself intrigued her when she first heard about 'Aarya', a name that Ram Madhvani had thought about nine years back. "I jumped at the name Aarya in the first meeting. Just the name told me so much about what the story would be like," said Sushmita.

Calling her character relatable to her as a person, Sushmita added, "I think it was me as a person, but very powerfully portrayed. Aarya is the courage of a human for me. It's about going against all odds to do the right thing."

Sushmita, who is a mother of two adopted daughter Renee and Alisah, related to the character the most because of the courage that comes along with motherhood. "Any mother would go the length to protect her family and children. If it's a mother, you wouldn't want to risk seeing how courageous they are," mentioned the actress.

Sushmita, who is making her comeback with the show, calling every day with Ram Madhvani a learning process. Apart from Sushmita, the show, which would air on Hotstar, features Chandrachur Singh, Namit Das, Sikandar Kher, Ankur Bhatia, Manish Chaudhari, Vinod Rawat, Alexx O’Nell and Sugandha Garg in pivotal roles. It releases on June 19.
