Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius reportedly went on a two-hour rampage after he was beaten in the 200 metres final at the 2012 London Paralympic Games. Pistorius had to be locked in a room, where he punched tables and hurled chairs against walls after Brazilian sprinter Alan Oliveira beat him in the 200 metres final.

It was Pistorius's first ever defeat over 200 metres. He was led away after an extraordinary television outburst on the track in which he accused Oliveira of having an unfair advantage because of the length of the blades attached to his legs, The Daily Express reported. Pistorius had been angry that the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) allowed his rival to use the longer blades, which he claimed lengthened his stride pattern.

Following the outburst he was ushered to an underground room of the Olympic Stadium where he erupted in a temper tantrum. The double-amputee shouted and screamed at IPC officials before erupting in tears in what one witness described as being just like a naughty three-year-old. The athlete then reportedly began hitting tables, kicking walls and throwing furniture around as stunned officials gathered outside the door.

It is has been reportedly revealed that at various stages Paralympic chiefs went into the room to try to calm him down but each visit saw a fresh escalation of Pistorius' hysterical reaction. A stadium source said that Pistorius didn't just throw his toys out of the pram, he threw the whole pram, adding that it sounded just like a naughty toddler who had gone into meltdown and thrown themselves on the floor after being told they couldn't have a new toy at the shops.
