With 18 polling booths falling under it, the Chakan village is a key town for all the candidates and is important place in Khed taluka. However the voter response was lukewarm until noon, 1986 of 11, 636 voters had exercise their voting franchise with voting percentage standing at 8 percent.
Vinayak Aundhkar, zonal officer at Chakan told dna, "So far we have got low response from the people. Most of the voters who had been provided voter slips have voted. There has been no issue with voting machines reported so far.
On similar line, Medankarwadi village near to Chakan too has got low response since morning at the polling booths. The village has five polling booths. Here the problem is that many men have come out to vote but number of women are few.
