No water for builders in Pimpri-Chinchwad

In view of the water scarcity, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has stopped water supply to constructions sites. Municipal commissioner Ashish Sharma has issued orders in this regard.

Addressing a meeting, Sharma said, “During summer, the civic administration was focusing only on meeting the demand for drinking water and hence, there would be no water supply at construction sites.’’

Sharma said the civic body in its 2012-13 budget, has made a separate provision for generating new water sources which will provide 100 MLD water. The PCMC hopes that the state government will approve the project.

Sharma retreated that after completion of the project, availability of 100 MLD extra water will enable the PCMC provide 24x7 water supply to city.
