India Post now has a varied amount of services available for all the citizens, be it ITR filing or booking your COVID vaccination appointment.
India Post has decided to make its post offices more useful to a wider population by offering a wide range of services to citizens. The various facilities available on the India Post website include applying for a PAN card and booking a COVID vaccination slot.
Most of the services offered by the central government regarding the PAN application, ITR filing and COVID vaccination booking are usually available online, which can be difficult to access for those not well-versed with technology. Thus, India post has decided to offer these services through its post offices.
Apart from the above-mentioned services, India Post has also offered the citizens the facility to file the Income Tax Return at its various common service centres across the country. Several third-party services for citizens are also being offered by India Post through its service centres.
On their official Twitter handle, India Post stated, “Now, no need to travel far to file your income tax returns. You can easily access income tax return services at your nearest post office CSC counter.”

- Income tax return filing
- COVID-19 vaccination appointment booking
- PAN card application
- Voter ID card application
- Passport application
- Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana application
- FASTag top-up
- Payment of utility bills
- Jeewan Pramaan Certificate
These services are available to the common public by the Common Service Centres (CSC) set up by India Post across the country. Through the CSCs, citizens can avail the above-mentioned services and also many central government schemes.
Some of the central government schemes offered by CSCs are Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors’ Atma Nirbhar Nidhi Yojana (PMSVANIDHI), Pradhan Manthri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayushman Bharat) and Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyapari Maan-Dhan Yojana (PM-LVM).
