Senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar, who went incommunicado for 22 hours after resigning as MLA, came out on Saturday and said he, as well as party supremo Sharad Pawar, were falsely implicated in the MSC bank scam. Feeling hurt and disturbed with the false propaganda and Enforcement Directorate (ED) notice against him and his uncle Sharad Pawar, he had in haste resigned as MLA, without consulting anyone, Ajit told reporters here.

Girish Mahajan, BJP minister said whether Ajit Pawar remains in politics or not, the inquiry against him and other guilty by the ED will continue.

Ajit broke down at the news conference while defending him and his uncle Sharad Pawar. He said the PIL was filed in this case and ED issued notice because of his name in the file. "You just remove Ajit Pawar name from the file, and nothing would have happened. I was the sole target. It was a deliberate character assignation," Pawar said.

He said, during 2014 assembly polls too, false propaganda was launched against him tarnishing his image in Rs 70,000 crore irrigation scam. "What happened with the inquiries in the last five years? Now, they want to do same ahead of the Maharashtra assembly polls by connecting our name with Rs 25000 crore MSC bank scam. Commenting on differences in Pawar family, he clarified there is no difference in the family. "Pawar saheb's word is last in our family," he said.
