Fashion designers in India like the West now have a tough time coping with excessive stress, hectic work schedules and a chaotic lifestyle. After designer Rohit Bal, it’s the turn of young fashion prodigy Swapnil Shinde who has hurt his back for the second time in two months and is bed-ridden. He was actually working out while the accident occurred. He now has a slip disc in his lower back and has even been advised by a spinal specialist to undergo a complete change in lifestyle!

Speaking on his health, the designer says, “I believe that this happened due to immense stress as I have been working very hard and styling for quite a few stars and models. I plan to cut down on such styling and freebie efforts and concentrate on my business, especially considering the upcoming Mumbai Fashion Week.”

Another reason he admits caused all the stress is his glamourous lifestyle. He adds, “I am on a strict diet and I am starting to swim once I am on my feet, since I can’t workout for at least the next six months. Although I can’t give up partying which I love, I will reduce it considerably and go out with friends alone,” explains the designer.

Swapnil has just completed working for a beauty pageant team, designing for the contestants. He is also currently working on the upcoming Fashion Week fall/winter festive line and recently also styled Mugdha Godse for her personal shoot. He adds,” My gowns and short dresses are going to a lot of talented actresses including Mugdha Godse, Shazahn Padamsee, Mandira Bedi, Shweta Bhardwaj and Vidya Malvade.”
