The gang used to take Rs 30 per house to provide dustbins

A gang is active across the state that is illegally collecting money from people in the name of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM). The gang is collecting money by going door to door in various cities across the state including the state capital Jaipur.
BJP councillor Dinesh Kanwant caught six members of the gang red-handed, while they were collecting money from the people in Vidhyadhar Nagar.
Three members of the gang are found to be under 18 years of age. After that, the councillor released minors and came to headquarter of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) with the other three youth. Mayor Ashok Lahoti handed the trio to the police and filed an FIR.
For the last several days, illegal recovery was being done under Swachh Bharat Mission in various wards of the city. In the Sanjay Colony area under Ward 24, the receipt was being cut for Rs 30 per house.
A family, resident of Sanjay Colony informed about this to Ward 9 BJP councillor Dinesh Kanwat as Ward 9 and 24 are interconnected. So Kanwat feared that the gang members would also target Ward 9.
Kanwat, with his colleagues, spread the information about such gang operating in the whole ward area. He told that six gang members arrived to collect money in Vidyadhar Nagar on Friday and he caught all the members.
The accused said that they were cutting the receipt of Rs 30 per family under Swachh Bharat Mission and added that they have been appointed by the Central Government. During the inquiry, it was discovered that there are three minors in the gang. Kanwat released the minors and informed Mayor Ashok Lahoti about the incident, after which the mayor called them to JMC Headquarters.
During the investigation of the documents, all the papers were found to be fake. On this, the mayor called Jyoti Nagar police and handed the three youth to the police, followed by filing an FIR.
