Google via its doodle presented an innovative representation commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vikram Sarabhai.
The illustration was created by Mumbai-based guest artist Pavan Rajurkar, who used space objects like a rocket launcher, moon, stars, and atmosphere all painted in space colour to pay his tribute to the Indian scientist.
In 1947, Vikram Sarabhai founded the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) and began his research in cosmic rays, an area of astronomy where he had a personal interest.
Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) was formally established as MG Science Institute in Ahmedabad in 1947 with the active support of Karmkshetra Educational Foundation and the Ahmedabad Education Society.
The institute carried research in cosmic rays and upper atmosphere. Later the institute advanced its research into theoretical physics and radiophysics.
