Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the Lok Sabha on Thursday after opposition MP Rahul Gandhi's address one day ago. Modi launched a series of attacks on the opposition. He said that the "opposition has betrayed the people of India" while speaking on the no-confident motion, a move by the opposition over Manipur violence.

"Opposition has betrayed the people of India. They have proved that their organisation is more important for them than the country," PM Modi replies to the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha.

Modi also said that while Congress was victorious in several parts of the country, Tamil Nadu where the Congress government was last formed in 1961 has been saying 'Congress, no-confidence'.

"It has taken Congress several decades to register victory in several parts of the country. In Tamil Nadu, the Congress last formed government in 1961. For the last 62 years, people of Tamil Nadu have been saying - 'Congress, no-confidence," says PM Modi.

Rahul Gandhi slammed the central government over the Manipur violence and demanded answers from the BJP over the violence-ridden state.

Slamming the no-confidence motion brought on by the Opposition, the prime minister said, "Today, data is known as second oil. A serious discussion was needed. But politics was a priority for you. Several Bills were related to the poor, backwards, Dalits. But the Opposition had no interest in it. The opposition betrayed the people."

Modi also said that every abuse from the opposition is used as a tonic. He also mocked the Congress party by saying that anything that they oppose turns out to be a success and only grows.
