IMD weather update: Heavy rains predicted in these states till September 21

IMD has also predicted light/moderate rains with heavy to very heavy rainfall in several states of India till September 21.

The Delhi Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted cloudy skies in parts of the Delhi NCR till September 20. On September 18, it is expected to be largely cloudy with a chance of light rain and drizzle in several areas of Delhi NCR. On September 19 and 20, there is a good chance of partly cloudy skies throughout the area.

Many areas of Delhi-NCR experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday, providing relief from the sultry heat. Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Dadri in the NCR region, as well as Munirka, Kalkaji, Tughlakabad, and Deramandi in Delhi, all recorded heavy rainfall.

Light to moderate rains with heavy to very heavy rainfall have also been forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for many Indian states through September 21.

On September 17, parts of Tamil Nadu and parts of Odisha are likely to have light to moderate rain, with isolated heavy rain. The weather is also predicted to be similar in some northeastern Indian states, including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from September 17 to 21, Assam and Meghalaya from September 18 to 21, and Arunachal Pradesh on September 20 and 21.

On September 17 and September 17–18, respectively, there is a very high likelihood of isolated exceptionally heavy rainfall over southeast Rajasthan. On September 18 and 19, there may be a few isolated areas of very heavy rainfall in Saurashtra and Kutch.
