The dates of the G20 Summit in Delhi are approaching, with some of the top world leaders expected to visit the national capital between the dates September 8 to September 10. In the midst of these, several establishments across Delhi will remain closed.

The state and central government has decided to shut down several establishments across Delhi to maintain security and cut down the traffic when world leaders are traveling in Delhi. Here is all you need to know about what is closed and what is open in Delhi.

In an effort to maintain security on these days, September 8, 9, and 10 have been declared as public holidays across the national capital. While the Delhi G20 Summit is set to take place on September 9 and 10, all establishments will be closed from September 8.

Banks, financial institutions, and commercial businesses in the New Delhi area will be closed from September 8 through September 10, as mentioned in a notification issued by the Delhi government on August 24.

According to the notification issued by the AAP government, all Government Departments, Offices, Organizations, Undertakings, Corporations, Boards, Statutory Bodies, Educational Institutions, etc. will remain closed from September 8 to September 10.

The same applies to all private offices, educational institutes, commercial banks, and financial institutions in the national capital territory.

Further, the notification mentions, “As per Section 16 (3) (i) of The Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954 all the commercial and business establishments situated within the jurisdiction of New Delhi Police District (as per attached map) shall remain closed from 8th to 10th September 2023.”

According to the official schedule, The 18th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit will see an appearance from top ministers, senior officials, and world leaders from all across the globe, and will be the culmination of all the G20 proceedings to date.
