The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is a symbol of honesty and the Congress Party and the AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) is trying to divert attention from their corruption cases by making false allegations against him in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) row.

"Arun Jaitley is a honest minister. He is a symbol of transparency and honesty. The Congress party and the AAP are making false allegations on the BJP. Congress itself is involved in the National Herald case and is not able to digest the fact that the Government has got a mandate,", said Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in New Delhi.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Finance Minister Arun Jailtey will come out with flying colours in the DDCA row in a similar way as BJP veteran LK Advani was acquitted in the Jain Hawala case.

Jaitley on Wednesday, filed a criminal defamation complaint against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other leaders of AAP for allegedly defaming him in the DDCA controversy before a Delhi court which took cognizance on his plea.

Jaitley also filed a civil defamation suit of Rs 10 crore against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders.
