As per the investigators, Nikita and Tausif had a conversation a day before the murder took place.
There has been national outrage over the 'love jihad' in Ballabhgarh where a 19-year-old college girl was murdered in broad daylight after she refused to get in the car with the one-sided lover. It has now come to light why the accused, Tauseef, shot the victim Nikita dead on Monday.
Both Tauseef and the other accused Rehan were arrested by the police on Tuesday from Mewat and during interrogation, it Tauseef revealed that he killed Nikita Tomar as she was planning to get married to someone.
After his offer of 'friendship' and conversion to Islam was rejected by Nikita, Tauseef was infuriated and decided to teach Nikita a lesson. He planned to kill her and shot her dead as she came out of college after her exam on Monday.
As per the investigators, Nikita and Tausif had a conversation a day before the murder took place.
Both Tauseef and Rehan were produced before a court in Faridabad and sent to two-day police remand.
With the investigation underway, several intriguing facts have also come to light, exposing Tauseef’s family’s strong political connections, which is why he managed to do away after committing such heinous crime.
According to Nikita's father, Tauseef's family has a political lineage. He said Khursheed Ahmed, a former Congress MLA of Mewat is the grandfather of Tauseef. While Khursheed Ahmed's brother has been a finance minister of Haryana. He further said that Tauseef's uncle Aftab Ahmed is a Congress party MLA from Nuh.
He also accused Tauseef's family of having close links with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Another family member said that Nikita's life could have been saved had we succumbed to Tausif's pressure two years ago. He said that Tausif had kidnapped their daughter in 2018 after which an FIR was lodged with the police and Tausif was arrested. However, Tausif's family apologised and a compromise was reached.
Interestingly, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi who played politics in the Hathras case are keeping mum over the entire Ballabgarh murder incident. This showcases some connection between Congress and Tausif's family.
