Ever since the trailer of the upcoming web series ‘Suraj Aur Saanjh’ was unveiled, it has created a curiosity among the netizens. The rom-com web series will feature Anil Charanjeett, Anjali Anand, Avinash Sachdev and arima Yagnik. Helmed by Vedd Rawtaani, the trailer has created a great buzz in the digital space. Going by the trailer, the story is about two distinct personalities who get stuck under the same roof and experience a rollercoaster journey of emotions, madness and unexpected twists and turns.
The show’s director and creator Vedd Rawtaani came up with the concept of ‘Suraj Aur Saanjh’ during the first phase of lockdown when he heard about people committing suicide and ending their life. “I heard a lot of people talking about mental health during that time. That’s when the idea of creating the show came to my mind. Every person like Saanjh who is not going through a good time in the show needs a crazy and innocent person like Suraj. The character of Suraj was formed like that of Govinda’s roles in the films who would spread happiness and bring smiles”, said Rawtaani.

Moreover, Vedd’s initial plan was to make the series with newcomers. After locking the script, the director got a positive reception on narrating it to his dear ones. While the entire show was shot amidst the first phase of lockdown, Vedd Rawtaani revealed that Anjali was the first character from the cast to be locked in for the web series.
Furthermore, the director was asked how other actors came on board for the series. Replying to it, Vedd said that Avinash Sachdev happily agreed to do a special appearance in the show. On the other hand, Garima Yagnik was selected after a few screen tests. While speaking about locking Anil Charanjeett, the director said, “I approached Anil sir out of the blue. However, during the discussions about the male lead with my co-producer Sanjana Parmar, I thought of having a newcomer opposite Anjali. But Anil sir was highly impressed with the script, and when we started with the shoot, I knew that there was nobody better than Anil sir and Anjali for the roles of Suraj and Saanjh.”
Apart from praising the cast of the series for doing a phenomenal job, Vedd Rawtaani could not stop gushing about the crew members of the show. “Everyone has worked hard to make this series on a decent scale, and I hope that the audience will accept ‘Suraj Aur Saanjh’ with their open arms”, quoted Rawtaani. The rom-com series is all set to release on October 22, 2021, on the official YouTube channel of Pocket Films and Facebook Watch.
